چکیده

Doubly-curved ribbed concrete shells are a materially efficient means of spanning large areas such as roofs and floors. However, the fabrication structures poses challenges in terms formwork manufacturing well material deposition. This has led to their decline compared more prismatic shapes flat slabs which can be manufactured economically. paper presents novel process called Automated Robotic Concrete Spraying (ARCS) by glass fibre reinforced (GFRC) is sprayed onto curved create thin shell components variable thickness. The trajectory planning generation algorithm developed implemented ARCS presented. Two sets prototype were fabricated: one forms segments larger structural floor demonstrator another consisting single component with deep ribs on shell. sequencing used generate spray paths for each outlined, using two different strategies add fabricated shells. While been conjunction pin-bed mould actuating flexible spraying surface, approach adaptable enough that any utilised. Combined output speed deposition, offers potential enable mass production customisation doubly-curved thickness an industrial at architectural scale. • A new robotic leveraging isolines geodesics was formulated. prototypes developed. high throughput lends itself offsite production.

Buckling Analysis of Concrete Spherical Shells

In some simple two-dimensional structures it is sufficient to determine only the lowest value of the load at which buckling commences. However, in the case of shells, it may be also necessary to investigate the postbuckling behavior because it has an important bearing on the magnitude of the failure load. The importance of the postbuckling behavior, which the small deflection theory of buckling...

OPTIMAL DESIGN OF REINFORCED CONCRETE ONE-WAY RIBBED SLABS USING IMPROVED TIME EVOLUTIONARY OPTIMIZATION

In this paper, a new robust metaheuristic optimization algorithm called improved time evolutionary optimization (ITEO) is applied to design reinforced concrete one-way ribbed slabs. Geometric and strength characteristics of concrete slabs are considered as design variables. The optimal design is such that in addition to achieving the minimum cost, all design constraints are satisfied under Amer...

Concrete Bridge Deck Condition Assessment Using Robotic System Rabit

Development and implementation of RABIT (Robotics Assisted Bridge Inspection Tool) in condition assessment concrete bridge decks is described. The system uses multiple nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technologies in characterization of three most common deterioration types: rebar corrosion, delamination, and concrete degradation. The system implements four NDE technologies: electrical resistivi...

Virtual Prototyping for Robotic Fabrication of Rebar Cages in Manufactured Concrete Construction

ABSTRACT: With the advent of precast construction technology, the construction industry has seen a rapid change in the way structures are built. Precast construction has brought down project costs and durations, increased the predictability and improved the quality of construction. It has also resulted in a shift in construction tasks from the construction site to the factory floor. Precast ele...

Automated Lower Bound Analysis of Concrete Slabs

The problems caused by using different methods for the design of concrete slabs, and their subsequent reanalysis for assessment, were highlighted in an earlier paper [1]. If the original calculations have been lost it is common for structures to be condemned because the checker does not know the original designer’s logic. In many cases the design was carried out by hand calculation, often using...
